How Your Payment Is Held

Pickxel holds the payment until you approve your photos or the review window ends. Here's how it works:

Payments

Step by Step

1. Client Pays

When you pay for a booking, the payment goes to Pickxel, not directly to the photographer.

2. Shoot Happens

The photographer does the session knowing you have already paid in full.

3. Photos Delivered

The photographer uploads final photos through Pickxel.

4. Client Approves

You review the photos and approve the delivery (or request revisions if included).

5. Funds Released

Your payment is released to the photographer the moment you approve, or automatically when the review period after delivery ends. It then goes to the photographer's bank on their Stripe payout schedule, usually within 2 business days.

Common Questions

How long does Pickxel hold the payment?

Funds are held until the client approves the delivery, or until the auto-approval period after delivery passes.

What if I'm not happy with the photos?

Photos are personal, so start with your photographer: request a revision from your booking page, and they'll work with you on edits (your package lists how many revisions are included). If something objectively went wrong, like a no-show, photos not delivered, photos that don't match the package, or unusable files, open a dispute and a person at Pickxel reviews both sides.

Where is my payment while Pickxel holds it?

Your card is charged through Stripe, and Pickxel holds the payment. It is not paid to the photographer until you approve your photos or the review window ends. If your photographer cancels, you get back everything you paid.
